Knights ready for Steelers clash

Paul Fielder13 April 2012

The top two in the ice hockey Sekonda Superleague come face to face tonight when the London Knights clash with league leaders Sheffield Steelers at the Sheffield Arena.

Knights, who have a game in hand on the Steelers, get the chance to close the gap to five points if they can inflict a first defeat of the season in regulation time on Mike Blaisdell's team.

Steelers have shot into a clear lead in the Superleague as a result of winning their first eight games, but that run came to a halt on Sunday when they went down 3-2 after a penalty shoot-out in Nottingham.

Knights head coach Chris McSorley said today: "It will take a good team to beat Sheffield, but the trick is to keep winning. The guys are pouring more into training and look better every day. I am very excited about this team."
