KP fascinated by captaincy decision

Kevin Pietersen has admitted England's current situation is "fascinating" - but acknowledges no-one knows whether having three captains will prove a success.

England will head into the summer with Andrew Strauss in charge of the Test team, Alastair Cook leading the one-day side and Stuart Broad as Twenty20 skipper. It is a decision which has raised eyebrows, with traditional logic suggesting one captain is the most desirable set-up.

Pietersen, who captained England's Test and one-day international teams from August 2008 until January 2009, told Sky Sports News: "It's fascinating, we've now got three captains. It's the first time it's ever been done but they are young with fresh ideas and Andy (England coach, Flower) has had some good ideas, so let's hope this is another one."

He added: "The three are going to have to put a lot of work in and no-one knows whether it's going to work, so let's see how it goes."
