Lehman weighing in with his chip shots

The America captain's meticulous planning extends to bringing from the States a week's supply of... tortillas!

"We live in Arizona, it's the land of Mexican food," Tom Lehman explained. "When we were over here the last few years, it was very difficult to find good chips and salsa. So we decided to bring our own corn tortillas.

"I must have loaded 200 bags of them into my golf bag. So I figure it weighed 500lb."

The tortillas were part of what Lehman described as the 'one-way trip stuff' which overloaded the plane and delayed the departure of the U.S. team by three hours in Washington on Sunday.

"It was massive amounts of luggage. When the airline personnel saw the bags piling in, their eyebrows got more and more furrowed," he said.
