Leinster clinch quarter-final place

Leinster inflicted a 43-20 defeat on Saracens at the RDS to book their place in the Heineken Cup quarter-finals.

Sarries were only 22-12 adrift at half-time in the Pool Two clash, turning around with the advantage of a blustery wind, but tries from Fergus McFadden, Isa Nacewa and Eoin O'Malley eased Leinster away.

England scrum-half Ben Youngs nudged Leicester towards a quarter-final place as his solo try in a 32-18 win stunned the Scarlets in Pool Five.

Youngs' 40-metre dash for glory, which followed an Alesana Tuilagi touchdown 10 minutes earlier, means a bonus point victory over Welford Road visitors Treviso next Sunday should be enough to see Tigers progress as group winners or one of two best runners-up.

Also in Pool Five Perpignan beat Treviso 44-9.

England wing Matt Banahan ran in four tries as Bath secured a 55-16 bonus-point victory over Heineken Cup Pool Four bottom club Aironi.

Left wing Tom Biggs and skipper Luke Watson also weighed in with two tries apiece, while Olly Barkley contributed 15 points with the boot.

In the other Pool Four encounter Ian Humphreys boosted Ulster's hopes of making the quarter-finals with a late long-range penalty to earn his side a 9-6 win over Biarritz.

European champions Toulouse stretched their unbeaten record to stay top of Heineken Cup Pool Six despite an unconvincing display in their 17-3 success against Newport Gwent Dragons.

Captain Thierry Dusautoir scored in each half, either side of Vincent Clerc's 32nd try of the competition, although the Frenchmen failed to collect a bonus against the pool's bottom side.
