Lock Lund to join brother at Biarritz

Leeds Carnegie lock Erik Lund has agreed a two-year contract with this season's Heineken Cup finalists Biarritz.

Lund will link up with his brother, former England and Sale Sharks flanker Magnus, in France next season.

"There are some obvious reasons why I decided to join Biarritz, notably the chance to play alongside my brother, to play in the Heineken Cup and experience a new lifestyle," said the 6ft 8in second-row forward.

"All of those were beyond Leeds Carnegie's control. However, it was incredibly difficult because of how special this group of players are here.

"We have developed a great team spirit, and that is all about us working together. It was an uneasy decision for me to decide to leave that behind."

Lund is set to make his final appearance for Leeds, who have staved off relegation from the Guinness Premiership, against Bath on Saturday.
