Minardi man's £2m boost

Zolt Baumgartner is to get £2.25million from Hungary's government so he can drive in Formula One next year.

The 23-year-old will also raise an equal amount of money through private sponsorship, said the country's Sports Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany today.

"This is a crazy amount of money," said Gyurcsany. "But we're talking about a great talent here."

The Hungarian driver twice raced for Jordan last year and is set to sign a deal with Minardi tomorrow.
