Misun close to Hoops switch

12 April 2012

Milan Misun has described the prospect of joining Celtic as the perfect Christmas present.

The 18-year-old Czech defender is set to complete a move to the Scottish champions on Thursday, according to his agent.

The Czech Republic Under-20 international, who has made only 12 first-team appearances for FK Pribram, said: "It is the best gift I could have got for Christmas."

He added: "I want to say a big thank you to Pribram coach Massimo Morales as he was not frightened to give a young player his chance in this league.

"I am incredibly happy that I chose to start my career there.

"When I was at Celtic on trial for a couple of days, they treated me really well and I believe I can improve as a player there."

Misun's agent Ondrej Chovanec added: "Milan should be in Glasgow on Thursday to sign a professional deal."

Celtic coach Neil Lennon dropped the biggest hint yet that Misun will join the club, saying in the Evening Times: "We are looking to develop our own players and if we can get them in at an early age and work with them then hopefully they will be big coups for the club in the years to come.

"Milan is 18 but he is a very talented boy. He is quick, he's strong and he is very composed on the ball. He was a standout last week on trial and we were keen to get the deal done."
