Murray books semis spot

12 April 2012

Andy Murray breezed into the semi-finals of the Moselle Open in Metz with an impressive straight-sets win over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

The third seed came through his quarter-final 6-3 6-3 in just over one hour 13 minutes.

The Scot broke his French opponent three times in the first set and conceded only one break point on his own serve - though that was enough for Tsonga to delay his march.

The second set was much tighter, but the British number one needed only one break point to put him on his way to victory.

Murray will now face second seed Guillermo Canas in the last four in what could be a dress rehearsal for Great Britain's Davis Cup World Group clash with Argentina next year.
