NFL's deadline for Wembley clash

13 April 2012

Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host Chicago Bears at Wembley on October 23, providing the NFL pay dispute is settled this summer.

The whole season is in doubt because of the league "lockout" after team owners and players failed to renegotiate their collective bargaining agreement.

But the NFL have still announced a London game with the proviso that if talks cannot solve the issue before August 1 then the match will be at the Buccaneers' Raymond James Stadium.

This will be fifth year in a row London has a regular-season game and Tampa lost to New England Patriots here in 2009.

The Bears, who reached the NFC Championship game last season, played a pre-season game at the old Wembley 25 years ago, the first official NFL match in Britain.
