No acting for Beckham

England captain David Beckham attended the premiere of his new Pepsi commercial in Manchester last night but said he had no plans to follow former footballer Vinnie Jones into acting.

Director Tarsem Singh claims Beckham would make a great actor, but the England captain said: "I don't know about following this up at the end of my career. I enjoy these commercials a lot more now because I am not as nervous.

"It is nice to do these kind of things as it helps take your mind off the pressures of football for a while and they are usually very memorable.

"I have worked with this director a few times now and he is a really good bloke."
