Noble: Calls went against us

12 April 2012

Great Britain head coach Brian Noble has questioned a number of refereeing decisions that went against his side during their 34-4 Tri-Nations loss to New Zealand at Wellington's Westpac Stadium.

The unlikely hiding has left the Lions needing to overcome Australia for the second time in a fortnight in Brisbane next week in order to make the series final.

"I don't think we have had a decent call the whole trip but you have to cope with those kinds of things," Noble said. "I could sit here and whinge but I am not going to do that."

He added: "I thought the Gareth Raynor try was a fair try and going in at 16-10, as it would have been, would have been a whole lot better than 16-4.

"It seems to me that we are not getting those 50-50 calls."

When asked what he thought of the refereeing, Kiwis head coach Brian McClennan refused to buy into the argument.

"I don't get involved in talking about what officials do or anything," he said.

"We just stick to the football and leave the refs alone and let them do their job."
