Charlton's desperation for a win continues as they head into the Christmas period without a victory in 14 matches.

Leroy Lita struck the only goal as Norwich beat Phil Parkinson's side 1-0 and they now face Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield United. "Everyone at the club needs a win," said Parkinson.

"How we get it is by sticking together and working hard and making sure that we don't lose belief when we get a setback."

Crystal Palace will continue to play Paddy McCarthy in the coming weeks despite his dislocated shoulder. The defender scored in the 2-2 draw at Sheffield United and Nick Carle found a late equaliser.

"A consultant told him that if he can stand the pain then he can't do any more damage," said boss Neil Warnock.

Lee Cook believes QPR will push on towards promotion in the New Year regardless of how many new signings they make in January.

Heidar Helguson scored twice and Dexter Blackstock netted the winner in a 3-2 win over Preston.

"The boss might bring in English players, Portuguese players or Italian players - we don't know.

"All I know is, with his coaching and what he tries to get through to you on the pitch, I think we're going to be successful," Cook said.

Watford need a lift after their 1-0 defeat at Derby.

"The team is a long way off what I would model and construct," said manager Brendan Rodgers.
