Raynor out of World Cup

Hull winger Gareth Raynor's hopes of playing in the World Cup have been dashed after he was forced to withdraw from the England train-on squad due to a toe problem.

The injury has not responded to treatment and the player must now undergo a minor operation which will prevent him training with Tony Smith's team ahead of the tournament in Australia.

Smith is due to announce his final squad for the World Cup after the Super League Grand Final, which takes place on October 4.
