Bradley Davies primed to lock horns with Irish Lions stars

10 April 2012

Wales' Bradley Davies is relishing the chance to test himself against one of rugby's most revered second-row combinations at Croke Park tomorrow.

The Cardiff Blues lock "can't wait" to oppose line-out greats Paul O'Connell and Donncha O'Callaghan, who start together for the 32nd time for Ireland.

"It is a big challenge - they are two world-class players," said 23-year-old Davies.

"They have played for the Lions, they've won the Heineken Cup with Munster and the Grand Slam, so they're top performers who are proven.

"Paul is an awesome leader and a great line-out forward. Donncha is more of a grafter - he does the hard work and is a bit of a nuisance.

"So it will be a big test for myself but it is something I cannot wait to get stuck into.

"Obviously, they are great players, but I believe in myself and my own capabilities and strengths. I can't wait to face them."
