RFU hold talks over Twickenham clash between England and New Zealand
The Rugby Football Union board will meet on Wednesday to discuss plans for a showdown between England and New Zealand at Twickenham on November 4.
A clash between the All Blacks and the Barbarians at the venue was originally scheduled for that date but the RFU must now decide whether England will host the world champions.
New Zealand’s RFU and England’s top clubs are demanding a share of what could be an £8m-£10million gate, while the Barbarians would want compensation.
England are not due to meet the All Blacks until 2018 but head coach Eddie Jones supports an earlier clash. “If that much-mooted game comes across, we are very keen to play them,” said Jones.
“There are a lot of discussions to go. If the opportunity comes up, we’ll be raring to go.”
Meanwhile, Six Nations chiefs are investigating a claim that Wales wing George North was bitten in the defeat by France and also the allegation a French prop was illegally replaced.

Match citing commissioner John Montgomery has until 5pm today to decide whether any incident should be reported and a disciplinary hearing convened.
