Sebastian Vettel desperate to forget Monaco woe

13 April 2012

Sebastian Vettel is hoping to bounce back from his Monaco Grand Prix disappointment and return to winning ways in Turkey.

The German, who is third in the standings, massively dented his title ambitions with an uncharacteristic error at Monte Carlo, which resulted in him hitting the barrier at Sainte Devote and retiring from the race.

But he said: "Monaco wasn't a true reflection of what we can do as a team nor did it highlight the strides in terms of the car's pace we've made.

"I expect us to have the pace to go for the race win in Istanbul or, at the very least, score some really big points. We should be challenging both Jenson Button and Brawn GP."

This will be the second race that will see Vettel's car have the controversial double diffuser and he said: "Monaco was too tight a circuit to really see the difference of how it works in terms of our one-lap pace. We're hoping as a team it will in Turkey and finally we can start to make things click."
