Singh knocks Tiger off top spot

14 April 2012

Vijay Singh knocked Tiger Woods off the top of the US Tour money list with victory in the Funai Classic at Disney World in Florida.

Singh, who started the final day in a four-way tie for the lead, shot a five-under-par 67 to pull away for a comfortable victory in benign conditions at the Magnolia course.

The Fijian finished on a 23-under 265, four shots clear of Woods, Stewart Cink and Scott Verplank.

Woods, of America, was never seriously in the hunt of victory after a bogey on the first hole and is now in jeopardy of not winning the money title for only the second time since turning professional.

The world No1 has just one event left, the season-ending Tour Championship in two weeks, while Singh will play the final two tournaments.
