This week in E20...

Today the Team GB shooting squad will be announced. All eyes will be on Richard Faulds, the Sydney 2000 Olympic gold medallist who failed to make the team for the World Championships in Munich.

The shooting team didn’t make the medals podium in 2008 and are aiming for two, in the men’s double trap and the women’s skeet where Ellen Allen is looking promising and could beat Italian Chiara Cainero.

Leaving Wales on Monday, the torch will head up through the North-West, crossing the Mersey for a concert in Liverpool’s Pier Head on Friday. Merseyside band The Wombats will headline a special concert.

The badminton team will be decided on Wednesday. Watch out for mixed doubles duo Jenny Wallwork and Nathan Robertson, who are looking stronger with every tournament. If they get through they will face stiff competition from the Danish team.

This Thursday, Usain Bolt, right, will go head to head with his rival, fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell in the 100 metres at the Diamond League in Rome. Powell, 29, has a personal best of 9.72 in the 100m, but Bolt, 25, still holds the world record of 9.58, set at the World Championships in Berlin in 2009.

From Friday, 1.5 million commemorative Oyster cards will go on sale at Tube stations for £10. The brightly coloured cards include images of sport and plenty of bunting. Shashi Verma, TfL’s director of customer experience, says she is “glad to produce something people can keep to mark this wonderful, once in a lifetime occasion.”
