Terry is back in spotlight

Steve Stammers13 April 2012

John Terry has received a shock recall to the Chelsea squad for tomorrow's Premiership clash at Blackburn.

The England Under-21 defender has not been involved in the first team this season due to his highly-publicised court case and fitness concerns over a knee injury.

But coach Claudio Ranieri has decided that Terry is now ready to return and pulled him out of a friendly game that was specially arranged for tomorrow night to give him a run out with the first team.

Terry was cleared of all charges in the court case that was brought after an incident at a Knightsbridge night club in January.

Since then Terry has introduced a self-imposed alcohol ban as he gets his promising career back on track.

Ranieri has turned to him after losing Graeme Le Saux, Mario Stanic and Albert Ferrer to injuries picked up in training this week.

Blackburn will be without winger Damien Duff, who injured his thigh during the Republic of Ireland's 4-2 defeat by Russia in Moscow on Saturday.
