This a great opportunity for me, insists new Foxes boss Megson

13 April 2012

New Leicester boss Gary Megson has described his return to management as a "fantastic opportunity".

The 48-year-old has been out of work since leaving Nottingham Forest in February 2006 but is expected to be unveiled at a 1pm press conference as successor to Martin Allen.

Megson told the Leicester Mercury: "To be able to get this opportunity is fantastic and it is one I aim to grasp with both hands."

He is expected to name former Foxes favourite Gerry Taggart as first-team coach and Frank Barlow as assistant manager.

Megson will be the Foxes' fifth manager in 18 months and the fourth since Milan Mandaric took control of the club in February.

His predecessor Allen was sacked on August 29 just four games into his tenure following a disagreement with Mandaric.
