Tim tumbles out in last eight

14 April 2012

British number one Tim Henman trailed off to a disappointing 4-6 4-6 quarter-final defeat to Sweden's Thomas Johansson at the at Queen's.

In an ominous sign for his Wimbledon chances, Henman looked well short of his grass-court best.

Henman failed to settle in the opening set, losing his serve twice and allowing Johansson to seal the set.

The second set followed a similar pattern with an early break of serve sealing Henman's fate.

Johnasson, who defeated 18-year-old Brit Andy Murray on Thursday, always held the upper hand with a composed display.

Johansson said: "It was a different game today. "Tim was playing very aggressively, but the key was that I was returning very well.

"I like playing against serve and volley guys because I can take advantage of my returns and I also had a high percentage of first serves which keeps Tim from the net."

The Swede will face either Lleyton Hewitt or Ivo Karlovic in the semi-finals.
