Usain Bolt to return to London for Anniversary Games in 2016

Usain Bolt is to warm up for the Rio Olympics by competing at the London Anniversary Games in 2016.

The double Olympic champion at 100m, 200m and 4x100m, Bolt will return to the track where he won those titles at London 2012.

Bolt will return to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London, to take part in the July 22-23 event which is part of the IAAF Diamond League series.

Bolt said: "I am pleased to announce my return to the Olympic stadium in London for the 2016 Anniversary Games.

"I know the athletics fans in London are very knowledgeable and passionate about track and field and will come out in force and create a great atmosphere like they always do."

Niels de Vos, Chief Executive of British Athletics, said: "Usain Bolt is a global sporting icon. This will be one of the last opportunities for families to attend the Anniversary Games and see him compete.
