Wagg waits to learn fate after cocaine confession

13 April 2012

Graham Wagg will have to wait three weeks before finding out his punishment for using cocaine.

The Warwickshire all-rounder pleaded guilty to using the substance when he appeared at a preliminary hearing of an England and Wales Cricket Board disciplinary panel at Lord's yesterday. But Wagg's future remains uncertain as the hearing was adjourned until 18 October.

Former England bowler Ed Giddins, who retired from cricket this summer at the age of 32, was banned for 18 months after he tested positive for cocaine.

Wagg, 21, took four wickets and hit a quick half-century on his Championship debut against Somerset two years ago and toured India with England A last winter.

However, he has since been hampered by a back injury and did not play in any of Warwickshire's Championship games this season.
