Chance: Sam Allardyce

West Ham have the money to bring one more “quality player” this transfer window, according to manager Sam Allardyce.

The Hammers have already splashed out £12m on Ecuador’s World Cup forward Enner Valencia, as well as bringing in six more players on both loans and permanent deals.

And with the transfer window slamming shut on Monday evening, Allardyce believes there is still the chance of a big-name player making the move to Upton Park.

“We have the budget for one quality player and that’s a possibility before the window shuts,” Allardyce said. “I think that one more player in the squad [would mean] we would have a good squad this year.

“Hopefully that’s a very fit squad and a squad that produces results. I can’t see anyone going the other way at the moment.

“Then we have an international window and that’s good for us with the injury list. Hopefully some of the injured players recover for when we play Hull City.”
