Worries over Games security

Extra security may cause problems for spectators at next month's Winter Olympics in Utah.

Following the 11 September terrorist attacks, the Salt Lake Organising Committee (SLOC) is spending £220 million on security.

But there are now concerns about the effect the increased measures will have on people at the Games.

There are fears many could be left outside in the cold for hours waiting to be searched before entering venues.

"If we're going to search everyone like they're about to shake hands with the president of the United States, this isn't going to work," said one SLOC official.
