Wright extends deadline after plea

Chris Jones13 April 2012

Owner Chris Wright today extended the deadline for bids to buy Queens Park Rangers and London Wasps until Tuesday to allow a consortium more time to draw up a multi-million pound bid.

He extended today's deadline for a bid to keep both clubs within Loftus Road plc following an appeal from the consortium.

He said: "The consortium's idea appears to be worthwhile and so the plans to demerge have been put on hold until Tuesday."

However, Wright rejected claims in a report today that QPR could be moving to Milton Keynes.

He said: "It's complete rubbish and there is no chance of QPR leaving Loftus Road. Even if a bid for the club does not materialise they will continue to operate under the current ownership and will play at Loftus Road."

Wright has received agreement from an EGM to purchase Wasps and the Twyford Avenue training ground if the plc is split.

QPR have released 15 out-of-contract players following relegation from Division One.

They are Chris Kiwomya, Danny Maddix, Ludek Miklosko, Steve Morrow, Michel Ngonge, Lee Harper, Ian Baraclough, Karl Ready, Matthew Rose, Keith Rowland, Bertie Brayley, Paul Bruce, Alvin Bubb, Terry McFlynn and Tony Scully.
