Wright remains a fan at heart

13 April 2012

Queens Park Rangers manager Ian Holloway believes former chairman Chris Wright is ready to end his self-imposed exile from Loftus Road.

Wright has refused to step foot inside the club he still owns after suffering abuse from fans. He put the company into voluntary administration last season and has opened talks with two parties about selling the club.

But after gutsy Rangers held unbeaten Bristol City to a 0-0 draw, despite playing the entire second half with 10 men, Holloway believes Wright is ready to at least return as a fan.

The QPR manager has a blossoming relationship with Wright, who gave him permission to sign Wolves striker Robert Taylor on loan this week and who continues to provide crucial funding.

Holloway said: "I'm getting some nice phone calls from Chris Wright asking if he can help me and it's an absolute pleasure to deal with him.

"He rang this week, said he'd heard about the defeat at Wycombe and asked what he could do to help financially. He wants to come and watch a game again and that's fantastic."

Rangers fought a successful rearguard action after Aziz Ben Askar was shown a second yellow card for hauling down Bristol striker Steve Jones in the 47th minute.
