Yorks reveal Gough talks

12 April 2012

Yorkshire have have confirmed they are in talks with former England bowler Darren Gough about a return to his home county.

Reports had linked the veteran Essex paceman with a move back to Yorkshire and chief executive Stewart Regan said: "Details have not yet been finalised, and until they are the club is not prepared to comment further.

"Upon Darren's recent return from Australia, the club contacted him over whether he had signed a new contract with Essex, and since then the board of directors have been in negotiations with him. Hopefully, the club will be in a position to comment further at some stage next week."

The former England Test player played first-class for Yorkshire between 1993 and 2004.
